Sponsored Review & Contest: Enchant, Natural Herbal Korean Cosmetics (Comments Closed)

Note: I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, so I'm no longer going to put in prices. ^__^ "Dermona and Enchant products are manufactured by Jung San Bio Technology Co. Ltd in Seoul, Korea, and represents the results of thousands of years of Oriental Herbal knowledge combined with modern herbal and cosmetic technologies. Established in 1980 by Mr Seong Nyoung Kim, he was looking for a product that would help eliminate some skin ailments that his family was experiencing. Unable to find any relief through western medical practices, he was reminded of how his Korean ancestors maintained soft, healthy skin without the aid of modern science. Mr Kim thereupon began to study and travel extensively to obtain more information about traditional Oriental remedies. His efforts culmitated in the discovery of a 17th Century manuscript entitled "Encyclopedia of Oriental Medicines and Practices." In this document he found many herbal compounding formulas that specifically helped to heal and maintain healthy skin."

Read on to find out more about Enchant and also to enter a contest to win a Herb Mild Foam Cleanser worth S$30.

Enchant

"Enchant is a revolutionary beauty product created to maintain healthy skin and to serve as an anti-aging device. By using renown traditional Korean herbs which speed up skin metabolism and circulation of blood, Enchant reinforces the skin's natural self protection process. Enchant reinforces the skin's natural self protection process. Enchant was designed for anyone who wants to maintain healthy smooth skin and to delay the natural aging process. Containing more than 30 all-natural ingredients such as Korean cherry extract, apricot stone and castor-oil, Enchant is able to use nature to improce the appearance of skin. The processing method is so special that it was given patent number 107305."

MF Natural Cleansing Oil

"Restoring and Balancing Nature's Intentions for the Skin

The natural ingredients efficiently remove all traces of makeup gently yet effectively as well as other types of pore clogging dirt while mainting the skin's natural sebum levels. The result is skin that is balanced, soft and comfortable.

Directions: Place 2-3 pumps of cleansing oil onto dry hands and gently massage oil onto a dry face with dry hands. Dampen hands, and emulsify oil by massagins a small amount of warm water on top of the oil. Rinse well with lukewarm water.

Main Ingredients: Apricot kennel oil, Complex active vitamins, Pine Resin oil, Camellia oil, Rice Bran oil

Net Contents: 210ml"

My Experience:

A very effective cleanser that removes all makeup including powder, eye-makeup, mascara and eyeliner. Rinses off clean. I still double-cleansed with a foaming cleanser as is my usual habit but some people might find it ok to just use this cleanser on its own. A tad less liquid than most other cleansers I've tried, the sticky consistency makes initial dry application slightly difficult, but after using water, the cleanser emulsifies efficiently making the massage process smooth and easy.

These do not take away the effectiveness of the product but I personally didn't take to the packaging, design and strong fragrance. I think it might be the smell of the Camellia that threw me off. It brings back strong memories of old ladies, I think it might be my strong personal association of the smell to my grandmother. The packaging also gives me an impression of a throw back to retro products.

MF Natural Multi BB Cream

"Soothing, Brightening and Protecting the Skin

The Natural Multiu BB (Blemish Balm) cream supplies sufficient nutrition from herbal ingredients to damaged skin caused by peeling, UV rays and other stresses and also revitalizes physiological functions. Furthermore, it has sedation, rejuvenation and spot-covering effects. The sedation effect allows for better moisture absorption from particular Korean herbal ingredients. The process rejuvenates tired sensitive skin caused by various stimulations. By using certain water proof characters from Liquid Mineral Technology and also complex herbal powders such as Lonicera flower and Coix seed, the cream not only absorbs sebum and sweat but covers skin spots naturally and maintains skin color. As result of its positive effects, BB Cream has become extremely popular in Korea and Japan as well.

Directions: For skin protection and natural-looking coverage, lightly pat a small amoutn of product over entire face in the final stage of basic skin toning. The cream is excellent for use as sun cream, makeup-base, or a foundation for natural -looking coverage.

Main Ingredients: Apricot Kernal, Mume fructus, Cypress, Pine Bud, Complex active vitamins,

Net Contents: 50ml"

My Experience:

The BB cream emerges from the tube in 2 layers, one watery and another creamy, though I was careful to shake the bottle thoroughly before pressing out the cream. However, it spread out nicely and mixed in together well upon application. The cream is on the dry side and provides a good coverage and a matte finish. Personally I prefer a glowy finish and sheer coverage, as you can see the BB cream accentuated most of my skin flaws, such as dryness, open pores (from aging) and creases. It's also abit too pink and pale for me, even though I do have slightly more pink undertones in my skin compared to most Asians. I think it'll be a good BB Cream for skin that requires good oil control and coverage.

While wearing this cream, I received alot of stares and second looks, I wonder if it's because I looked prettier than usual or is it because the cream is too light for me? LOL!!! Buahaha.

Cetaphil's great as a morning facial cleanser, where there's nothing dirty to remove from the skin, but you'd still want to cleanse it (especially for me, as I have oily skin, and want to remove that oily film formed on the corners of my nose when I'm sleeping). Favourite & Best: Paul and Joe Pressed Powder

Note: I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, so I'm no longer going to put in prices. ^__^

Ahhh! The weekend is here! It seems I can only blog on weekends nowadays. I have been mighty busy at my new office and new work coverage. It doesn't help that I haven't been feeling well and the work just piles up when I'm off on medical leave. I might try blogging a whole bunch then scheduling posts over the week. Will see how I fare with my writing output first. :D

I'm starting a "Favourite & Best" series because first of all, I don't want this to become merely a haul blog! LOL. I wanted to give some-value added information. :D So, I figured it might be interesting to let you know what items I repurchase without hesitation once they hit the pan. As a person who likes variety and exploring new things, a repurchase means an item is considered my favourite and deemed the best among all that I've tried, based on my personal experience, preferences and my skin type.

I'll begin this "series" with my favourite pressed powder, which is the Pressed Powder N from Paul and Joe.

Paul and Joe Pressed Powder N is very fine and matches my skin tone very well. It doesn't cake or dry out my skin, even when I apply with a puff.

I have both Pressed Powder N in shades 02 and 04. Recently I bought a refill for 02 which has hit the pan. When I'm using Pressed Powder N 02, it doesn't create a white powdery cast but gives a transluscent, natural look. Shade 04 gives a nice glowy look when I use it as a finishing powder. Being very fine, Paul and Joe pressed powders are good for touch ups through the day. The only drawback is it doesn't have any SPF.

At a recent Prestige (they are the local distributor for Paul & Joe) warehouse sale, I purchased the old Paul and Joe Pressed Powder in shade 02 Vanille. I've not tried it yet, but the texture looks similar to the new Pressed Powder N. I am only afraid it might be a little too light for me. Nevertheless, I think it's still a useable powder. Finally, I know most times, people are concerned about oil control. I'm not sure how good Pressed Powder N is in terms of oil control. My face is "weird" in a sense that if I use powders that have oil control functions, my skin becomes even oilier, and the powders become cakey, then I see dry flakes on top of my oily skin. It's like my skin becomes confused?

With Paul and Joe, none of these crazy things happen. It simply is very sheer, makes my skin look even, like it is naturally smooth and dewy without any makeup. In this sense, I can't tell if Paul and Joe powders have any oil control functions, but for sure it gives a very natural, clean, fresh and dewy look. Finally, I won Akisa's Beauty Swatch giveaway. It's a very pretty lip balm. Thank you! I am saving this for when I've finished my other lip balms. :D

Ecojot Flair Buttons (Giveaway)

Note: I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, so I'm no longer going to put in prices. ^__^ As you already know, I have a weakness for cute+pretty+notebooks. Ecojot is a Canadian brand, that makes a gorgeous range of what they call "100% post-consumer recycled paper products". :D Besides the fact that they are acid-free papers, I also adore their designs. I read Ecojot's blog, Ecojotter, and lust after their adorable colourful notebooks all the time. I still haven't figured out how I can buy them online. I don't think they are available here in Singapore. Anyway, last night I received a package in the mail. It's a gift of 3 little beautiful buttons from Ecojotter's giveaway. I initially intended to put them on my makeup pouch but decided they are too cute and deserve a place in the open, so I've put them on my Jill Stuart fabric tote, which I use to carry my lunch box etc. ;D So adorable! I wish I could hug them. LOL!! Aren't the colours just so lush and delicious? And the designs are so cute too! *HEART* Well, enough gushing. The weekend is here. I just want to laze about! But time is short and I have much to do. My head is still feeling heavy but my cough is easing. The tightness in my chest is also no longer there (thanks to the inhaler I believe). At one point last week, the doctor told me that if I feel breathless, I should just go to the hospital right away. Thank God that I didn't have to do that! I look forward to being completely well. I want to go for Shu Uemura's opening at Ion hahaha, cause I just want to see what the fuss is about, and also I want to see what's in the goody bag. :D Have a great weekend everyone! :D PS: Oh I forgot to say, if you're looking for items from Sasa, they have a website http://www.sasa.com/. I think it's the same company as the brick-and-mortar stores. And Angelicious Creations has a website too http://www.angelicious-creations.com/, where you can buy her designs. I'm not affiliated to these stores, but let Angelious Creations know I sent you her way. LOL. :D © Copyright. All rights reserved.
