Haul: Paul & Joe

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

While I was pretty disciplined and avoided hauling too much during the Great Singapore Sale in June and July this year, I caved-in to temptation more than a few times recently, lured by alot of nice shopping deals for the newer Summer and Fall collections. Among these recent temptations was the Isetan Sale where Paul and Joe items were going at 20% off. There were also some good packaged sets from Paul and Joe to be had at a nice price.

It's been some time since I last bought Paul and Joe, and I didn't get to any of the latest warehouse sales, so I took the opportunity to get some items I'd been thinking of buying but held off when they were first released.

I really adore the Paul and Joe packaging. Such nice patterns on the boxes!

Trying Out New Nail Polish Colours

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

Photo has been digitally altered to save readers
from looking clearly at my horrific manicure efforts! ^__^;;

Lately, I've been seeing lots of pretty green-blue nail polish colours on the blogs and I wanted one for myself. Is green-blue a latest season colour? I'm not sure, I don't keep up with nail polish trends. :D

But anyway, since I only paint my toenails, I seldom buy high-end nail polish and my search on the drugstore shelves brought me to this last bottle of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear which was on 20% discount at Watsons last week.

The colour is Marine Scene. Something quite different from what I normally prefer, which would be neutrals. I think I could get hooked on these vibrant colours and I might just look for some more daring colours to try.

Pretties to Share

Apologies: I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I no longer do it. ^__^ I've been away from work and looking after my son. Have tweeted about it so I won't bore you about the details. Occupying myself and making the son happy with baking cupcakes (wow I made alot!) and this is one batch I recently made: chocolate cupcake base with chocolate ganache glaze and chocolate cream cheese frosting. (What to do? He loves chocolate. Man, I'd like to do some fruity or tangy cupcakes soon or something.) I know they are not uniform and some look deformed, LOL! I don't have enough cupcake trays so I just put them in the oven in the paper cups and they bake into weird shapes. And no electric mixer so I hand-beat everything, you can see specks of cream cheese that were not mixed in properly buahahaha cause I didn't wait for it to warm to room temperature. But hey, they taste pretty nice so that's good enough for us. Managed to get out of the house for a while on Thursday and haul some stuff. Very fast buying! All within 1 hour. LOL. Photos are kinda grainy, because I took them in dim light, in the night. ❤ ❤ All very, verrrry pretty colours. I couldn't resist.❤ ❤ New colours from Lunasol, with a 10% discount. So matchy-matchy huh? Items from Mac's Spring collection, with a 12% rebate, woot! I don't like pigments at all but the Mac MA told me these will be perfect for my skin colour and a great combi with the purplish Vintage Grape blush I bought. She showed me how to use these pigments and assured me these are different from the usual pigments. Truly, they are very intense even when applied dry and without a fix-it. So I was convinced and bought it. :D The very popular peach blush from the same collection was sold out. I wanted to get it so I asked the MA for an orange, peach or brown blush dup but we couldn't find anything suitable. Everything in those shades make me look very sallow, or abit sick or like I put on fake tanning lotion. :( Finally, a gloss from Kiehl's that I picked up to make up $100 spending, together with the shampoo and lotion I purchased from Kiehl's, to get an umbrella that I totally didn't need. LOL but I like Kiehl's glosses. Btw, I tweeted about it before, I don't get the Kiehl's boys, they aren't cute neither do they have personality, what is their function? ☠ ☠ Haha. Looking forward to the weekend. :D © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Angelicious Creations Earrings

Note: I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, so I'm no longer going to put in prices. ^__^ I had been some eyeing earrings from Angelicious Creations since the start of May this year when I chanced upon them at Isetan Scotts accessories department on the ground floor. However, I didn't buy them because I was afraid of allergies and also, I wanted to wait for a sale. My patience was rewarded this month, when I took the opportunity to grab 2 of my favourite earrings at a 37%+10% discount during the recent Isetan Anniversary sale. Although the butterfly earrings that I initially wanted are no longer available, I'm glad I waited! These 2 that I got are just as pretty! The earrings are made locally by a Singaporean designer who handcrafts everything and makes limited numbers of each design. For some designs, she makes the flowers by hand too. I think they are so pretty, I'd risk allergies for the sake of them. As I've been ill and stuck at home, I haven't had the chance to use them yet. (Yes, I'm sick and stuck at home for the entire week!) I look forward to wearing them when I am better next week (I am convinced I shall get well soon lol!). © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Cuteness Aboard!

Note: I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, so I'm no longer going to put in prices. ^__^ For those who asked, I got the mug from Isetan! :D There's a Sanrio store at the 3rd level of Isetan Scotts. :D

Ok, on to today's post. I recently told Tracy that I also hauled some stationery and promised I'd show her my haul. :D So, today's post is about stationery.

I am basically a writer - meaning, I tend to express myself better in writing (those who have met me in person will know I'm not really chatty at all). I tend to write alot and I also make alot of lists, including shopping lists! LOL.

On top of that, I am also a sucker for sweet and cute things. Hence, I have alot of notebooks. I went through a phase where I liked Moleskin alot, but I had to cut down on that very expensive addiction. I have since substituted it with cute notebooks and notepads (for my lists).

Recently I found cute notebooks and notepads from Daiso. I had to pick up one of each design. I think you can tell, I tend to go for stuff that are mostly pink/red stationery/accessories. I think it's to make up for the lack of colour in my clothes. :D

From Daiso. The inside pages are decorated too! (So worth it! LOL!)

Also from Daiso. I picked up these notepads at the Isetan Anniversary Sale from Isetan stationery department. Worth it, with the 10% discount. All the papers are decorated and so cute! I get so happy writing lists on these papers. It makes even my boring job interesting when I write my to-do lists on these papers. The one of the right-most is from Daiso, the Rilakkuma and Kireizukinseikatu from Isetan stationery department. To tell the truth, I picked up some folders I'd been eyeing for a long time too. At 10% discount as well. I don't know what I'll put inside those folders. And some cute mechanical pencils too. I'll show them to you in another post if I get round to photographing them. :D © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Health Update & New Cuteness

Note: I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, so I'm no longer going to put in prices. ^__^ Just when I thought I was getting better I got a runny nose and fever over the weekend. I wanted to be stoic and go to the office but when I woke up this morning, I had a very bad nose bleed. Had to go see the doctor. While at the doctor's my nose bled all over the public toilet sink, and I scared a couple of girls! I think it looks kinda scary haha. All that blood. Anyway, I'm contagious and the doctors said I must stay away from people. Especially vulnerable people like small children and old people who have existing illnesses. So, I'm staying at home and if I'm not better on Wednesday, I have to go back for a checkup again. :P Enough of the sickness talk. Let me show you something cute. I've been wanting this Hello Kitty mug eversince I saw it early this month but something made me hold out for it. Eventually, I managed to get it at a discount! I didn't realise it would come with this cute tin box! Here's the much-lusted mug. It's a tall mug and wider than most mugs. Check out the "Hello Kitty" wording at the handle! :D I intend to use this in the office, hence I needed a cover for it. You know, cause people would come over to the desk and talk and I don't want stuff falling into my drink! LOL!! So I got this cover from Daiso. I tried to search for a red cover but Carrefour and Daiso didn't have any. This was the only cover that Daiso had, that was large enough for the mug. I think it turned out to be quite a nice cover after all, isn't it? I think it's supposed to be a sunflower. :D © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Today's "Beauty" Purchase

Note: I'm changing my way of blogging my hauls. I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, and subjects me to snarky comments, so I'm no longer going to put in prices.
Not really a beauty purchase, but ain't it pretty? My new inhaler. Well, it's free cause I'm under my husband's company medical scheme, so it's not really a purchase either. Anyway ... :D Those who follow me on Twitter will know I've been suffering a long never-ending cough. My doctor finally said I need to be put on an inhaler. I hope it works. Would love for this cough to be over soon, cause I want to haul stuff from Isetan Anniversary sale tomorrow. LOL! © Copyright. All rights reserved.

On Becoming A New Guerlain Fan

Note: I'm changing my way of blogging my hauls. I used to put prices as a service for those who wanted to know, but I'm feeling this exposes my spendings abit too much, and subjects me to snarky comments, so I'm no longer going to put in prices. I am slowly but surely becoming a Guerlain fan as a result of all the discounts that the brand has been offering of late. After I purchased Meteorites in Pearly White and Meteorites Voyage at a nice price, I found I really like the experience of applying Guerlain products. The Meteorites powder is lightly scented with an unmistakeable signature Guerlain fragrance and is such a pleasure to use everyday. I read in forums that some people find the Meteorites powder does nothing for them. For me, on the other hand, I notice a significant difference. When I use Pearly White, I find it works very well to highlight my features. It also has a nice light-reflecting effect that hides imperfections in my skin, without extreme shimmer. I have not tried my Guerlain Pearly White compact yet, but I look forward to using it.

Last week, I added to my Guerlain collection when I headed to the CK Tang Guerlain counter to get the Summer Fling set. It was a special offer which was on from 10-12 July, consisting of a Perfect White UV Protector + KissKiss Lip Gloss + Meteorites Pearl Powder No.3. The set was available at a S$62 discount from the usual total price of all the items. You can select any KissKiss lip gloss colour for the set and the very nice SA helped me choose No. 864. The SA also told me Meteorites No.3 can be used for a bronzing effect or for contouring. I have been using as a contouring powder.

KissKiss Lip Gloss No. 864 and Butterfly Kiss Limited Edition mascara

While I was there, I was also informed there's a 50% discount on eye makeup, excluding some mascara, liners and the Summer eye palettes. So I picked up a Limited Edition Spring 09 palette and a Butterfly Kiss Limited Edition mascara, which is a combination of black and sparkly violet.

Spring 09 eye palette and Meteorites No. 3

In addition to the 50% discount, I got a S$10 discount each from the palette and mascara because I used the CK Tang beauty vouchers that I have. I also used my rebate $ in my CK Tang card and "saved" quite a lot when I made this purchase.
Even though I bought everything at promotion prices, the SA gave me a gift-with-purchase (GWP). This was unlike the Guerlain SA at Takashimaya, who told me I can't get a GWP because I purchased Meteorites in Pearly White and Meteorites Voyage at a promotion price. *sulk* In general I find the Guerlain SAs in CK Tang better than the ones at Takashimaya.

4-piece gift-with-purchase and Perfect White UV Protector

On Sunday, I went back to CK Tang to get 2 more palettes in Rose and Violet. Much to my regret, by Sunday there were no more Limited Edition palettes left! And I also picked up another mascara in violet (not pictured). Similarly, I utilised some rebate $ and a couple of S$10 beauty vouchers to reduce my actual cash spendings on these items.

Rose and Violet Palettes

Guerlain is a reputable brand and doesn't come cheap. So, overall, I'm so happy to have obtained these Guerlain items at great discounts. There were some speculation and suspicions about why Guerlain's giving so many discounts lately. I personally don't think there are any defects to the products. Otherwise, by normal industry standards, the products should be recalled, not sold off at cheap prices. I could think of no other reason except an attempt by Guerlain to reach more people in these tough economic times.

Weekend Hauling & Give-Away Winners

The stuff in my bag has been driving me crazy running all over the place. I seem to need to compartmentalise things (OCD haha). So, I picked up some cute items today for my own use - to put coins, keys and cards, etc. I think that they are so cute, I have to go back for more. I'm planning perhaps they could be Christmas gifts. They are not too expensive at all and rather well made. I'm surprised that I ended up with red and black stuff that are mostly items from Ruby Gloom, Emily the Strange pouch, and Nightmare before Christmas. 001copy Here's a view of the designs on the other side of each item. One of the Emily the Strange items is a photo locket. 002copy I got this small bag for carrying my lunch box. :D 003copy Also got these notebooks from Muji and Daiso for my various projects, and decorated them with stickers (doll ones I got from Korea and the apples are actually cards from Daiso). I intend to stamp titles on the covers. 004copy Oh and I bought some cheap shoes too, I'll photograph them another day. I forgot to do it. LOL. Over the weekend and while I was sick recouperating at home, I restarted my crafting engines. I decided to also restart my crafting blog called Aichaku Creates. :D Finally, I've been thinking of how to randomly assign 3 give-away winners, but in vain! So, I've taken the easy way out and decided to give the 3 give-away prizes to the first 3 commentors in the last blog entry! So, the winners are Shopn'Chomp, eclecticsatire, and izumi!! Please contact me and let me know your address? It's a very small give away and totally random. I'll do a bigger one in the future. :D Thanks to everyone, for reading my blog and have a great week ahead! © Copyright. All rights reserved.

A Totally Unnecessary Haul

Alright, since when have hauls been necessary? Haha, but truly, I never lemmed for Guerlain items. They were completely off my radar until I saw Haru's and Tracy's posts about a good offer price of S$45 on Guerlain's Meteorites Pearly White. I called the counter and also asked about the compact. So I ended up getting these. 001copy Meteorites Pearly White (the SA asked me "how many" I wanted, I only got 1, maybe I should have bought 2? haha) and Guerlain's Meteorites Voyage Compact powder in Mythic at S$184 for both the compact and a refill. I actually fell for the lovely casing and the great price pushed me over. Honestly though, I wouldn't have bought it at the original price of over S$200 for just the compact. Here's a look at the inside. 002copy And shucks, I started lemming for the Midnight Butterfly compact that I saw when I was researching on Meteorites. It's so pretty, but thank goodness it's no longer available because it's really too expensive! And I'm thinking of the Guerlain Pearly White Compact Foundation too. Oh well, that's what I get for reading beauty blogs. :p Yes, Tracy, you're right, feel broke but happy. Haha. :D I'm away from the office these couple of days and have limited internet connection. It will be a busy weekend ahead too, I can't wait to watch Transformers! :D © Copyright. All rights reserved.

More Body Shop Hauls & Etude House Opening

Thank you all for your get-well wishes, I've finally succumbed and swallowed the antibiotics that the doctor gave me. I went to see her last week. Then again this week on Wednesday because my cough and fever didn't subside. She said for a cough that lasts that long, it's probably microbacteria, and she wanted me to do a blood test!! Eek! I told her, "Nevermind, just give me the meds." But honestly, I resisted taking them, until yesterday, when my fever had me shivering and I was so phglemy! It was a good thing I ate those antibiotics, because today, the fever is down and I felt better, so I could go out for groceries. But then, I ended up not just getting groceries, because I saw more sales and bought stuff!! Darned Great Singapore Sale! *shake fist* LOL. I'm supposed to be saving money, but resistance is futile. Sale-sale-sale everywhere. I felt had to get those things, or I'll regret paying full price if I need them when the sale is over. I was telling some peeps I'm not going to get more Body Shop stuff, but I saw their masks going for much cheaper than usual. S$10 off if you buy 1, S$25 off if you buy 2. So I bought 2 others that I wanted to try. Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask (retails for S$32.90) and Moisture White Hydrating Mask (retails for S$39.90). I'm kind of a mask addict. I mask 2-3 times a week. A cleansing mask once a week, and moisturising/hydrating mask (sheet or wash off) 2 times a week. I don't have time to go for spa facials, so I do DIY "facial" by masking and scrubbing at home. :D 003copy According to the SA, Ionic Clay Mask can tell where your skin is dry and where it is oily, then hydrate or deep cleanse accordingly. So high-tech! LOL. I'll do a review when I have tried it and tell you if it's true. As for the Moisture White Hydrating Mask, it has whitening ingredients like Vitamin C and Liquorice to enhance the skin tone, plus it's hydrating. I liked it when the SA applied it on my hand. Also will try on my face and let you know how it is. I owe you all a couple of reviews on the other masks I bought. Some of you have asked about them. I've tried them all already, promise I'll make time to review them this weekend. Spa Wisdom Africa Spa Salt Scrub is really great. I've used it before. You apply it on slightly damp skin and the salt forms a gentle abrasion scrub that makes your skin soft and smooth. It normally retails for S$52.90. I love the smell and it's on such a good offer right now, 30% off, so I had to get it. I was telling Fuz that I obsess about my skincare routines, including the body and hair. Haha. 99% of bath and hair products in the bathroom are mine, including 2 different scrubs and 2 different shower foams on the shelf at 1 time. I like to change about. I scrub twice a week. It helps my body moisturiser absorb better and makes my skin soft. :D The bag (according to the receipt it costs S$35.90?) and Passion Fruit Shower Gel (retails for S$12.90) are gifts-with-purchase. I was asking the SA if I could just have 2 bottles of shower gel instead, but she said, "Sorry, no." LOL. We had a giggle over it but hell, I don't like this bag! Oh well. It's "free". Keke. Oh, and the Divine Calm Massage Oil (retails for S$18.90, on sale for S$12.90) is good. I use it for DIY head massages and it helps with relaxation or soothing a headache (but nothing beats a Zomig for the killer migraine, I admit). 001copy By the way, Etude House is finally in Singapore!! I happened to be there today, on opening day. They were giving out a free mask sheet to visitors but I didn't see any other promos going on (maybe there were some but I didn't have time to check). I didn't buy anything, nor did I have time to talk to the SAs. It was packed liked sardines in there!! It's a small shop at basement 1 of Plaza Singapura, but rather cute! I love the pink-pink-pink decor, even the SAs were dressed in pink. Here's a look at what they are marketing as their best-sellers. 002copy A quick check around allowed me to see that prices are not too expensive. Offhand, I think they didn't jack up the prices too much higher than Korea. I'll do a better review of the shop next time when I have more time to spend browsing around. :D holiday 011copy Oh I hope they bring in Lee Min Ho as their spokesman for a special visit in Singapore!! He's plastered all over Etude House in Korea (together with Ikko-chan, who's like the guru for all makeup/skincare that everyone must listen to, lol). *sigh* Why didn't they bring Lee Min Ho in for opening day? Well, anyway, hope you all have a good weekend ahead! I love the weekends. :D © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Bath and Body Products

My Paul & Joe pressed powder has hit the pan! The beginning of the End! So soon??!!! I'm shocked. I bought it not too long ago. Ok, it doesn't rhyme totally, but I think it makes a good modern poem. :p (Kinda.) 008copy The Body Shop has started on the Great Singapore Sale (yearly tourism gimmick?) with a preview sale. A sale before a sale? How weird can things get, here in Singapore? My whipped soaps from Etsy are all gone, and I need to restock on bath products, so I was eyeing some more bath and body products last weekend at The Body Shop. I'm glad I resisted buying them then, because with this pre-sale sale, I managed to get more for my money. In total I spent about S$130, whereas, on a non-sale day, to get all that I got, I'd have spent about twice that amount? Here's the haul. I just used the Papaya scrub. It's goooood. 006copy And some member gifts for nett purchases above S$100. (Supposed to be worth S$60+. For real? I don't know.) 004copy The SA was so funny. She said, "The bag is nice and big, but the best thing is, there's no Body Shop logo!" LOL. I recently bought some instant coffee from Marks & Spencer (also on sale ... there's sales everywhere!) I just drank a cup today. I haven't decided if I like how it tastes. Very interesting though, that they also included a sachet of chocolate topping. I bought Cappucino (pictured) and Mocha (not pictured). 001copy © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Masks, Masks, Masks.

I tried to do a spending freeze on non-essentials till June, but I got bored and went to the shops yesterday. Broke my spending freeze by buying masks, shoes & handbags.

I got a 20% discount, so bought some masks from The Body Shop. Too bad I missed the warehouse sale. I like paper masks for convenience but like to use wash off masks too, especially those that exfoliate/deep cleanse or smell great. 013copy I think I'm really easy to please? I tried and like the Blue Corn 3-in-1 scrub mask alot.

How to use it: Remove your makeup, (I also washed my face with my face wash but the SA said it's optional), dry it, then put on the mask. Let it dry sufficiently, then wet it and scrub your face.

It's refreshing (minty) and the scrub granules are not rough. I found it abit drying, so I'm keeping it for PMS periods when my T-zone produces abit more oil. I don't advise using this more than once a week. It feels like it did clear out the gunk in my pores. I've not tried the other 2 masks yet, but the SA said they're good for dry skin. I'll let you know how I feel about them after I've used them. I'm sure I'll like the Honey one too, cause it smells so good. The Aloe one is supposed to replenish moisture and enhance the sensitive skin's resilience. Since I'm on the topic of masks, I'll share more hauls I got when I was in Korea and Japan: When I was in Korea, Bittenbefore gave me a Caviar mask from Skin Food to try. I found it really made my skin moist and supple, when my skin was quite dry and stressed from all the flying and the weather. So when I hit the shops, I bought a few more and some others. A sample of what I got. 014copy These are the whitening ones which I bought. I haven't tried the Skin Food, which are patches for the cheek area. The Fancl and Blanchir are mild, but brighten the skin tone. 015copy An aside, I scrapbook for my hobby and haul stuff for scrapbooking too and lately, I've found myself having too much scrapbooking stuff. A friend suggested that I pack my extras into kits for ebay sale, and I tried packing last night.

Does this look interesting enough to you, have enough stuff to make you interested in buying? The large circle with words are raw chipboard that you can decorate and the oblong item below the photo are stamps.

006copy The photography is lacking, I admit that. I need to find new angles, better arrangement and better light for photographing the items. I seem to think I need to add more stuff. I also don't know how to price them. And I need to figure out the text for the ebay sale. :p

It's bothersome, isn't it? It seems like too much work, LOL, I'm on the verge of calling it quits before I've even properly started. :p © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Random Hairband Haul & Mag Scans

I bought a bunch of cheap hairbands at Diva today. My hair is irritating me! I'd love to cut a short pixie type hairstyle but hairdressers always tell me my face is too broad for that style. 005copy I picked up these 2 free mags at Gloria Jean's while buying coffee (where you can buy a regular latte for S$2.50 from 9am-1pm). Interesting, isn't it? There's a local Korean-English Lifestyle magazine! Korean wave must be really big in Singapore for such a magazine to exist? 003copy And I want to know where can I get this ice cream? I want to eat it! Cos it's strawberry and it's got a funny face and looks like a pile of poo. LOL! Is it a real ice cream? I wonder. 004copy There's a DIY feature in the mag for reworking your old tee into a bag. 006copy Apologies, blurry pics taken during free-bored time with my handphone. Not the best hp camera! Need to buy a new phone. © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Review: Orbis Pore Zone Control Essence

Jamilla just reviewed Kevin Maker Trans Pore Smoother and it reminded me of something that I bought recently and should review. It's Orbis' Pore Zone Control Essence. blog 003copy Like Jamilla, I have large pores on my nose. Bittenbefore recommended this product to me for addressing problems with my pores and I find that it is great! I liked it so much, I bought a second tube in Seoul, where there was a 20% or 30% (I can't recall) discount on Orbis products (*grin* Thanks to Miu Miu for alerting me to it!). It works differently from Kevin Maker Trans Pore Smoother. If I understand it correctly, Trans Pore Smoother fills up the pores in order to give a smooth look. On the other hand, the SA in Seoul explained to me (she spoke Chinese! how cool is that?) that Pore Zone Control Essence works by giving the skin 弹性 (resilience/elasticity/spring) so that the pores close up. It really works for me. I find that my nose looks and feels smoother and the effect lasts through the day. blog 002copy It is a whitish cream that absorbs into the skin without a trace, and like all Orbis products, is oil-free. The great thing is that, unlike most pore products, it doesn't dry out the skin. I experienced no irritation at all. I highly recommend this! Wish I could get Orbis products in Singapore! © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Contest and Swatches: 2 BB Creams and DHC Primer

Beauty for a Living is hosting a give-away and I was really excited to see the very generous prizes! I had to join in for fun and also blog about it to promote her site. :D I bought alot of bases and BB creams recently, particularly from my trip, so I wanted to show you some of them as I go along. Oh and Korea Tourism Board should sponsor my next trip to Korea! Seems like I'm helping them promote shopping in Korea and many people are keen to go there now! LOL.
Since, I received many samples during my trip, I used them first (not sure why I'm doing that though, cause I think I should be giving them away or saving them for travel purposes). So far I've used them according to my mood. And I've used them several times. Each sample sachet seems to provide me alot of cream! I can use them for multiple times. I was telling Pinky that I've bought too much stuff and need to stop buying already or else I think I can't finish using them all! Now that I've seen how little BB cream I actually need each day, I think I have purchased enough BB cream to last me for a year or two at least! Not to mention the other stuff that I still have yet to use! LOL. But I'm still lemming for alot of stuff, eg. more Mac Dazzleglass, Chanel Glossimer, I regret not picking up the Hello Kitty powder with the blingbling case, etc. But I think I need to be virtuous and restrain myself from more spending!
OK, on to the swatches. I'm just showing you 3 today, that I've used this week. Although I'm showing you a photo of sample sachets for the BB Cream, I actually did buy a tube of each BB Cream. The DHC Primer is the full bottle size (it's rather small). blog 006copy Hanskin Caviar Gold BB Cream is numbered 1 in the swatch. Banila Co. Let Me Bebe (Nude), numbered 2 DHC Q10 Rose Beauty (beige), numbered 3 (a sort of primer) blog 004copy blog 005copy I squeezed out a bit too much, hence the thickness in the 2nd pic, but it helps you see how the colours look. The consistency of both BB Creams are quite thick and can be hard to blend, but I overcome that by moisturising well. Coverage is excellent. It also looks like they aren't good matches for my skin tone, but somehow, it doesn't seem obvious when I wear it on my face. Maybe it's because I don't use a thick layer. I did realise it was good to fly with BB cream instead of bare skin. The BB cream seem to protect the facial skin from the dry air in the airplane.
Consistency of the DHC Primer is runny. It's the best match for my skin tone. I just noticed that even though it's called beige, it has a more pinkish tone. It's moisturising and provides a shimmery finish for me, but not very obvious. I foresee it's possible for me to use just this base and a powder for a lightweight finish. Fuz reviewed this and she didn't like the one she bought in pink. For me, this one in beige actually does provide a light dewy coverage. Maybe my face is slightly drier than hers so this primer doesn't feel too oily for me. © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Accessories from Seoul

I love these accessories I bought in Seoul. They are what you can call FREAKING CHEAP! They are of varying prices but range from S$3 to S$6 each. The quality actually looks quite good for something so cheap. LOL! blog 007copy I like their unique designs. Singapore has nice accessories but there's a tendency for designs to look similar. It's like all the buyers in Singapore are friends who have similar tastes and went shopping together in the same places. Though, by my limited experience in Seoul, I realise that what is so-called "freaking cheap" to me, could actually really be even cheaper. For example, I purchased a top in Migilore, Myeong Dong by bargaining it down to what I thought was a good price. Then about half-an-hour later, walked over to a free-standing store in Myeong Dong and found the same top at an even cheaper price! I almost bought the same top in another colour, but the store is cash-only, so I just bought something else instead (I didn't bring enough cash! <<< *dumbo* Haha!) I would have bought more accessories if I brought more cash. I also would have bought all the yummy cheap earrings (they have tonnes!!!) if only I didn't have bad allergic reactions to costume jewellery (my ears and cheeks itch, turn red and swell into huge lumps with some metals if I'm not careful). © Copyright.
