Review: Skinfood Mushroom BB Cream

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

My main computer died on me suddenly last night! It refuses to boot up! All the photos which I recently took and uploaded to the computer have been deleted from the cameras, but unfortunately were not backed up on my external harddrive. Very sad, isn't it? I wonder if it's worth the effort and money to try to retrieve my files from that computer.

I'm now typing on my travel laptop, which is a little slow-going for me, because I'm not used to this keypad. Anyway, I'm thinking about whether I should hurry and get another computer. Maybe I could take some time off the virtual world and spend a little more time on my other interests?

Fortunately, I had already uploaded to the web my photos for this review. So I am still able to share with you my thoughts about one of my favourite BB Creams: Skinfood Mushroom BB Cream.

Haul: Paul & Joe

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

While I was pretty disciplined and avoided hauling too much during the Great Singapore Sale in June and July this year, I caved-in to temptation more than a few times recently, lured by alot of nice shopping deals for the newer Summer and Fall collections. Among these recent temptations was the Isetan Sale where Paul and Joe items were going at 20% off. There were also some good packaged sets from Paul and Joe to be had at a nice price.

It's been some time since I last bought Paul and Joe, and I didn't get to any of the latest warehouse sales, so I took the opportunity to get some items I'd been thinking of buying but held off when they were first released.

I really adore the Paul and Joe packaging. Such nice patterns on the boxes!

Trying Out New Nail Polish Colours

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

Photo has been digitally altered to save readers
from looking clearly at my horrific manicure efforts! ^__^;;

Lately, I've been seeing lots of pretty green-blue nail polish colours on the blogs and I wanted one for myself. Is green-blue a latest season colour? I'm not sure, I don't keep up with nail polish trends. :D

But anyway, since I only paint my toenails, I seldom buy high-end nail polish and my search on the drugstore shelves brought me to this last bottle of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear which was on 20% discount at Watsons last week.

The colour is Marine Scene. Something quite different from what I normally prefer, which would be neutrals. I think I could get hooked on these vibrant colours and I might just look for some more daring colours to try.

Report: Scientists Make Artificial Skin for Tests

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

Ultra-cute!

Looking at or touching fluffy animals like rabbits make me feel happy. In principle, I don't want animals to suffer for my beauty but I previously seldom took the effort to stop buying products from companies that tested on animals. Recently, I've managed to be more conscious and made some animal-friendly changes to my buying habits. So I was very glad to read: "Scientific American reported that researchers now have a new way of testing toxicity that doesn't involve adorable, helpless (and scientifically useful) animals. Instead, it involves lab-grown human skin." ... read more.

What about you? Do you make a conscious effort to avoid products that have been tested on animals? Or to only buy from companies that do not test on animals?

Sponsored Review: Neutrogena Wave Duo

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

The Neutrogena Wave Duo is the latest offering from Neutrogena’s innovative Neutrogena Wave line of products. It now comes with two different cleansing modes for both gentle and deep-pore cleansing.

I was sent a Neutrogena Wave Duo for trial and review. I had previously purchased the first generation Neutrogena Wave and had been happy with using it for a once-a-week exfoliation and deep cleansing treatment. Placed side-by-side with the Neutrogena Wave, the main difference in the Neutrogena Wave Duo is the dual button for the two new cleansing modes.

Sponsored Review: Mentholatum Mojitate Kajitsu and Deep Moist Lipbalms

This article was originally posted at http://aichakubeautification.blogspot.com. If you see it anywhere else without credit, the content is stolen without permission.

The Samplestore recently sent me Mentholatum's Mojitate Kajitsu and Deep Moist Lipbalms for testing and review. Naturally, I was very keen to try them out, because I'm a self-confessed lipbalm "addict". I like having the lush, smooth feeling of moisturised lips that come from putting on lipbalm regularly.

Mentholatum is the number one best selling lipbalm brand in Japan and the Mogitate Kajitsu lipbalm series was launched in Singapore recently. I received 3 flavours of Mentholatum's Mojitate Kajitsu Lipbalms and 2 flavours of Deep Moist Lipbalms. And an offer to let my readers know about a contest (keep reading!)

"Mojitate" means "Fresh" and "Kajitsu" means "Fruits" in Japanese. The "juicy" Mojitate Kajitsu lipbalms comes in 5 different fruit mixes: Strawberry, Grape & Berry, Orange & Mango, White Peach and Lemon and Lime. Mojitate Kajitsu lipbalms are made with fresh fruit juice and also contains Honey, which heals and renews the lips; Squalene that is easily absorbed and helps reduce wrinkles; Grape Seed Oil that repairs the skin; and Vitamin A and E, antioxidants that retard lip aging and give lips a healthy shine.
