Review: Skinfood Mushroom BB Cream

My main computer died on me suddenly last night! It refuses to boot up! All the photos which I recently took and uploaded to the computer have been deleted from the cameras, but unfortunately were not backed up on my external harddrive. Very sad, isn't it? I wonder if it's worth the effort and money to try to retrieve my files from that computer.

I'm now typing on my travel laptop, which is a little slow-going for me, because I'm not used to this keypad. Anyway, I'm thinking about whether I should hurry and get another computer. Maybe I could take some time off the virtual world and spend a little more time on my other interests?

Fortunately, I had already uploaded to the web my photos for this review. So I am still able to share with you my thoughts about one of my favourite BB Creams: Skinfood Mushroom BB Cream.

I bought this BB Cream in my first visit to Seoul last year and I repurchased a 2nd tube on my 2nd visit back there.

At that point, I was about to give up on BB Cream because those I'd been using prior to this felt too heavy and thick for daily use. Thus, I was very happy to find that this Skinfood BB Cream was light, moisturising and yet not oily nor heavy. It's a nice match to my skin tone (Mac NC20-25) too. It's more on the pink side, which is ok for me because I have a pinkish-to-neutral undertone.

REVIEW
Pros
  • Sheer and light
  • Imparts glowy look
  • Does not cake
  • Light, natural scent that fades away after some time
  • Seemed to improve skin texture
  • Kept skin moist even in super dry and cold Korean winter
  • Not too oily for me in humid and hot Singapore
Cons
  • Coverage might be too light and sheer for some
  • Since it's moisturising, I think it does not have much oil control
  • Price is much too high in Singapore, compared to price in Korea.

Verdict
Y Y Y Y /5

Except for the price, I'm very happy with this BB Cream.
While I can accept paying a few dollars price more, a price difference of nearly triple the original is simply too much. I personally refuse to buy Skinfood items in Singapore because it is waaaaay overpriced here. Hence, although I am reaching the end of my 2nd tube, I don't think I'll be repurchasing unless I can buy it at close to the price in Korea. Perhaps via Gmarket?

I'm a little sad that this BB cream isn't more easily available for me, but to be honest, there is still alot of other BB cream to try and I've been using some other brands, which will be reviewed in the near future.

Thank you for a great review. I've heard quite good things about skin foods, I wish they were available here in Aus too ^_^
