The Neutrogena Wave Duo is the latest offering from Neutrogena’s innovative Neutrogena Wave line of products. It now comes with two different cleansing modes for both gentle and deep-pore cleansing.

I was sent a Neutrogena Wave Duo for trial and review. I had previously purchased the first generation Neutrogena Wave and had been happy with using it for a once-a-week exfoliation and deep cleansing treatment. Placed side-by-side with the Neutrogena Wave, the main difference in the Neutrogena Wave Duo is the dual button for the two new cleansing modes.

The first speed offers a cleansing massage so gentle that it can be used daily. When using the gentle massage mode, the gentle vibrations softly massage to exfoliate and remove dirt, oil and make-up, revealing a softer and cleaned skin. The new additional higher speed, offers a deep pore cleansing that can be used whenever an extra cleansing boost is required. The deeper, yet still gentle, vibrations exfoliate and penetrate up to ten times deeper than a traditional cleanser, to remove dirt and oil from the pores and dead cells from the skin surface.

Other than that, the Neutrogena Wave Duo retains all the great features of the first generation Neutrogena Wave: cute and ergonomic design, water resistance, economically powered with a single AA battery and great exfoliation and deep cleansing capabilities. Similarly with the Wave, you'll need to use it with Neutrogena's special disposable foaming pad, made to be used with the Wave Duo. Attach it to the head of the Wave Duo machine, hold it under running water to activate the cleansing pad, then turn on the Wave Duo and gently massage over face avoiding the eye areas. There will also be a new Blackhead Eliminating Pad, which will be available in Singapore from early next year. I'm looking forward to this, as it touts the ability to exfoliate skin that is smoother in a single use, while featuring micro-beads that help remove pore-clogging impurities and sweep away stubborn dead skin cells.

REVIEW
Pros
  • Love the pink colour!
  • Cleans very well, skin feels unclogged and smooth
  • Pores and skin are clearer
  • Affordable and convenient
  • Dual mode allows gentle daily exfoliation and cleansing, with added deep cleansing power for a weekly "spa" effect
  • No adverse reaction: no stinging or redness even on my hyper-reactive and "thin" skin
Cons
  • The cleansing pad leaves an emollient film that doesn't rinse away with water, hence I usually follow up with a foaming cleanser because I'm uncertain what that film will do to my skin
Verdict
Y Y Y Y /5

I love this nifty little tool. Not only does it clean but it's convenient and affordable. Now with a gentler cleansing mode, I can use it more often as well.
