Inner Beauty & Health Is Much More Important

Yesterday, I bumped into someone who hasn't seen me for some time. He took a long look at me and said, "You look very tired." My first reaction was to think of how much effort I had put into trying to do my make up and hair. So, my first instinct was disappointment, that someone would actually notice how tired I was, instead of saying how pretty I looked. Hahaha. *Bitter laugh* Well, anyway, since we were at the office lift lobby, I told him, in front of several other people, "That's good. It means I'm working hard." Duh. I'm so sad at my lousy retorts. I can only think of good come-back lines after the fact. Still, I wonder how much of our external beautification efforts really pay off, if we are in fact actually physically and mentally run-down? On another note, I've recently been noticing bag charms from companies like Coach and LV. I really like them alot but don't want to pay so much for a bag charm. I've done google and ebay searches but haven't come up with any nice alternative finds. I'd really love to find some nice ones. If you know any places to buy, let me know please? I'm still searching for the perfect bag, but I've come to think there's probably no such thing! I'll write more on that later. © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Daily Conversations

Me: Which bag is nicer? X or Y? A: (looks at bags) X is nicer... (pause) A: Didn't you just buy a bag? (pause) Me: Yes ... (*sigh*) Ugh, yes, someone said it's possible to get a Coach bag from the US at a cheaper price, so I'm now eyeing 2 bags ... Addison leather bag in brown or Addison Spectator leather bag in pink. But ofcourse common sense says, "No more new bags!" © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Another Place to Buy Rootote

I first saw Rootote in Japan. Liked it but didn't buy because of my personal history with these sort of tote bags: I buy them, then don't use them for various reasons. Then, I saw Rootote in Taipei. Attracted to them again, but didn't buy either. Then Rootote came to Singapore. I got this news from Viva Woman's post Rootote Available in Singapore. I saw Rootote yesterday in a rather unexpected place: The stationery section of Page 2 at Vivocity. You can check them out there, if it's a more convenient location. I still don't have a Rootote, so I don't have a photo for you, but I did buy 2 new notebooks for 2009! Yeah for cute notebooks. :D Image000copy © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Tivoli! Tivoli!

A few days ago, I was really in a bad mood for several reasons but when I arrived at my work desk and saw this message on my phone: "Hi santa is back!" my mood lightened considerably. So, I met "My Best Friend" yesterday. He told us how he had to work really hard in school (clever person is doing his postgrad studies in a top business school). But he's looking well and much happier. This is the bag that he brought with him: blog 001copy blog 002copy blog 005copy On hindsight, I felt bad I asked him to help me buy this bag. I didn't expect him to ask them to place it in the box. Normally, my husband will bring LV back with him without the box because it really is so bulky! I can't imagine how "My Best Friend" brought it back on the plane by himself. Yet, it looks so nice in the box. HAHA. So it is truly a happy thing. Luckily "My Best Friend" said it was fun shopping. I didn't get a chance to give him a treat to repay his help. Here's the damage! Eeek! blog 003copy © Copyright. All rights reserved.

I Lost It

My taste or my mind that is. I went shopping alone while the son stayed home and played Xbox co-operative games with daddy. And I bought this super bling bag from Paris Hilton, feeling happy because it's super bling, a cute size, at a discount and reminds me of Juicy Couture. However, I'm now feeling despondent ... It does not receive the son's seal of approval!! He thinks it's "Yucks". Boohoo ... gawsh ... I actually still think it's rather cute! *Help* But, come to think of it, I wonder if I should return it to the shop ... (hence the wrappings are left unwrapped ... except for one which I carefully undid, so you can see how bling it is ... ) Image003 I think it's a rather unknown entity, this so-called Paris Hilton line of bags ... no one posted anything online about it at all. Or at least I did a search (so I could compare prices) and I couldn't find anything. There were some complaints about the ickky-factor in everything Paris Hilton does, but not much about the bags ... Shucks. Oh and I bought skin care! I'll write about it soon. Probably, after I've tried it a few days and can make a review. © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Bags, bags, bags, bags

I'm obsessing about bags. But I received good advice, "Wait for the next season to buy more, so you'll get a good range of designs!" So, for now I'll just obsess. Yesterday, I was at Dior and saw several bags from the the Ethnic and Cannage range on discount, up to 50% off. I almost bought a black Ethnic but luckily thought the better of it, because I think it's too trendy and not the sort of evergreen design that I prefer. I didn't look closely at the Cannage but last night I was thinking I should go back and take a look. However, based on the good advice, I thought I should, I ought to resist. Yet, Cannage is an evergreen style and would be good to pick up at a discount ... Ohoh ... Tempted, tempted, tempted ... On the other hand, I loved the Dior soft bag I saw in pink, I don't know which range it's from, Dior is so confusing ... so, maybe I should just save up and buy that one next time ... Oh I don't know! Meanwhile, Coach has a cute pink bag, I was lured to it though a Poupee event special ... It's the Leah Emboosed Op Art Patent. I also quite like the Leather Sabrina. I wonder if it's worth the effort to buy online through Coach's official site (Coach in Singapore is so overpriced, even with a sale on). Oh and Neiman Marcus has aawfully cute Juicy Couture bags! Omg! Sheesh, anyone wants to spree with me? I ought to go find out if Neiman Marcus ships to Singapore, or whether I need to use Vpost. © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Tivoli PM

I did it. I asked My Best Friend to help me get the Tivoli. It's almost SG$600 cheaper in London compared to getting it here in Singapore. I couldn't resist when he said ok ... I'm so busting my shopping budget and I cannot buy anything for at least 6 months (son says, "yeah,. right ..." with disbelief) ... but well, I need to think I can control myself, shouldn't I? And I should control myself ... I'll think of the Gucci as my Christmas present to myself and my Tivoli as my birthday present to myself ... Sheesh. bag © Copyright. All rights reserved.

Help! I'm About To Faint

Do I buy a Tivoli right after I just purchased my new bag? Seems so wasteful and frivolous. But I just got a good opportunity to get it cheaper than in Singapore ... and I don't want to igve it up and wait for later ... Ofcourse, I gave up on the Dior, it's too much for me to buy at the moment. Help! To Tivoli or not to Tivoli? *Faint* © Copyright. All rights reserved.

My New Bag

It's been a really tough work week, and I kept thinking about getting a new bag. I asked a friend overseas to help me get a Dior, which I think might be cheaper there, but I changed my mind about Dior. And though I told another friend, "Gucci is so common, everyone seems to be carrying it!" ... I kept thinking about a cheaper-than-retail everyday bag, so .... Yipee!! I bought a new bag today at the Gucci sale. Image001 But I don't see it on any of the online galleries. Must be an old version or something. I don't even know what's its name. I'm such a sua-ku* actually. I don't keep up with information on these branded stuff and I didn't even think to ask the SA! I was just so happy with the feel and size of it. I simply wanted a nice bag that I can use for everyday, something large-ish that I can sling over my shoulder. It's discounted by SG$400plus, so I think it was rather worth the effort of waking up and going to Takashimaya this morning. No queues, no crowds. Just helpful SAs (actually not all the SAs were helpful but that's another story). I think many of the totes are sold out, that's why this is all that's left which is not gold leather (didn't want those with gold leather, cause this bag is supposed to be an everyday bag and the gold will peel off if I use it daily). Actually, I wanted to get this bag in the version with the brown leather strap and trims but there was only the display piece left, no new piece both at Takashimaya and Paragon, so I decided on the white leather version instead. Anyway, when I made a comparison, I thought this one looked a little more fresh for me, especially when I always wear dark coloured clothes anyway. And I nearly, almost bought another Gucci, the Duchessa boston bag but I already have a boston-style bag and I seldom use it because I find it hard to use a bag without slinging it on my shoulder. Anyway, the son helped me decide on this one. He said it's the right size for me. Keke. So it was, sensibly, this brief-case looking one over the smaller boston bag. After buying this bag, I went to Coach to take a look again and ... hmm I didn't buy anything from there, though it is very popular because alot of the bags on discount have been sold already. There's another bag I want to get, I went to look at it just before we headed for lunch. It's the LV Tivoli PM, I found it sooooo cute and I liked the way it felt ... but it costs SG$1500plus here in Singapore, so I didn't buy it (and it's a hand-held bag ... hmmm me and hand-held bags...) I did want the Neverfull, but then thought, it's unsafe for me to use that sort of bag. I dropped things out of bags without zippers before! Yes, I dropped and LOST(!) a new handphone, which my husband gave me as a present! :P So, well, I'm hoping I could get the Tivoli cheaper ... I have some ideas ... But, that's for later, can't be extravagant ... I don't think this style will be gone soon right? It's not one of those ... sold out by a certain time, never to return designs, is it? And I shouldn't get another hand-held bag ... no, I shouldn't ... should I? *sua-ku is the local term for someone who is a hick ... kekeke. © Copyright. All rights reserved.

I Want A New Bag!

I want a new bag! I want it nice and cheap. Or rather, I want a brand bag at a discount from retail price. So after work, I headed to the Gucci sale. First I went to Takashimaya. There was a long queue. I went to Coach instead. There was a sale there too. And I didn't like what I saw. By then the store got really crowded and another queue started outside the Coach store. So I went back to Gucci. The air was getting thicker with the after work crowds. And the queue was longer. And it was hot. And it was crowded. Did I mention that already? Crowded. I stood in the queue for a while, then felt faint. So stuffy. I sort of wobbled. Then I thought, "Oops I don't want to appear in the tabloids tomorrow ... " I imagined the headlines, "Woman fainted and stomped on at Gucci sale." So I walked away and headed to Paragon's Gucci, but at that point I was on the verge of collapsing. After battling all the crowds from one place to another, I felt very sick and almost pukey. I really do have a bad physical reaction to crowds and small spaces. When I arrived at Paragon Gucci, I saw another queue and gave up. I went and sat down at a fast food joint with a cup of drink. Then I went home. I still want a new bag. I want a tote or a tote-like bag at a discount! Please tell me where I can find one. Boohoohoohoo. © Copyright. All rights reserved.
