Reviews: Cleanser, Serum & What I Wore Today
3 reviews today.
1. Lavera Neutral Cleansing Gel
I don't like it.
It cleans but it doesn't lather and I feel it doesn't have a deep cleansing effect, so my pores feel gunky. I shall leave it for the son to use / for days when I am having hypersensitive reactions. Fortunately I only bought 2 tubes of it at $7sg per piece.
2. Shiseido White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum (Sample - small tube next to Lavera Cleanser)
I love it.
Sometimes I get pimples on my chin during PMS. I used it on my pimple scars and they lightened very quickly. Much faster than even when I use Blanchir. And it's not oily. I don't know the price of the full size bottle, and I have alot of whitening products to try, so I might not buy it yet, but it's likely I'll buy it in future.
3. What I Wore Today (Shopping Outfit)
I hated it. Kinda. For various reasons.
I tried wearing a jacket (dug out my Abercrombie) instead of a cardigan to hide the spaghetti straps.
So, are heels really better than flats?
Heels (Btw, someone commented these shoes are serviceable. What are "serviceable" shoes?):
Flats:
I went with the flats today.
My sis-in-law is always in her Prada flats but I bet no one ever tells her to wear heels to be fashionable or to pretty-up a dress? She's really thin though (despite having 2 kids), and much taller than me, over 170cm. Almost as tall as my brother whom she married, whereas I'm only about 167cm.
Anyway, those darned flats still hurt so bad, in a fit of grouchiness I threw them out. Maybe the sis-in-law could give me the deals to her fav Prada boutiques.
To add insult to injury, something about my face that says, "Criticise me, I feel too good about myself and need to be put down." I was browsing the store and an SA came up to say, "Very nice style, but that jacket is too hot for our weather!" WTF?
Sure, I felt hot outside (*snigger*) but in the shopping centre, it wasn't bad at all. I was really pissed. And that dress, kept sliding down and showing my "cleavage", plus bunching up at the torso. I really wasn't happy with it at all. Darned dress.
I was kinda sweaty and irritated after a long day, and almost bought this cardigan from Zara. But I thought I shouldn't. So I didn't.
(Erm, yes, lol, I've taken to bringing the camera around with me, so I can look at clothes I tried and think about them before I buy them. That's the luxury of having time to think.)

I think your outfit is cute, especially with the denim jacket.
I like the fact you are giving the shiseido lucid heads up: it is something I can actually buy in the departement store over here! Is is scented btw?
u should tell that SA to mind her own business
by the way we are the same height!
and i dont really wear heels either
as a matter of fact, my sister says i wear super ugly shoes hahahaha
i am beginning to think i am more obasan than u
I went to skinfood to take a look at their oriental haircare line. the shampoo, conditioner and hair tonic were all 10900won! and such a small bottle..*sigh* i got the hair tonic and now my head smells yucky.
your feet hurt with flats too? even with flats sometimes my feet hurt too =p
Some flats hurt my feet too :( I can really empathise *sympathetic hug*
Hi Aichaku,
The dress is cute! I think that the denim jacket works nicely, but perhaps not an OL look in finance.
I can't believe the nerve of some SAs in Asia...they are very opinionated!!
If your feet hurt, try seeing a foot doctor...I wear custom orthodtics in my Tod's loafers!
I have never been able to wear heels after having a double bunionectomy/ostotemy and knee surgery--but that doesn't stop you from wearing nice Italian shoes!
I think you are headed in the right direction.
Yay the denim jacket makes the dress look so much younger, and I think you did great going with the flats, made the outfit even younger!
And yay you didn't buy the cardigan! hahahaa. Can't wait to see the Aldo necklace on you! That SA is a loud mouth, wtf, so annoying! 167 is pretty tall for Asian women, haha.
I need to try the new Lucent line, cuz when I tried it years and years ago it didn't work well for me... I think they've reformulated it since then.
i think a shorter cardigan would look great on u too. :)
I like the "Shiseido White Lucent Concentrated Brightening Serum". I stocked up 2 bottles of them. I use it during summer time when I don't feel like to put on the foundation or powder, I look brightened up without any makeup. What you wore looked kinda cute, but you may wear a belt.
Yes, I agree with XXX. A shorter cardi would work better. To choose the length of the jacket/cardi, use the position of the "waist" line as a guage. The line across the middle of your dress you wore today is higher cut. Across the bottom of the bust rather than the waist. So a shorter cardi that is the length to the line would be cuter and younger.
I really like your dress! Its quite girly. The jeans jacket adds bulk to the top though.
I hope you're not offended...just trying to be constructive. I'm not siding with the SA. She really should mind her own business. Its your choice as to what to wear what!! She is rather rude to say that to you.
Oh...I make the comment that your shoes are servicable. I mean that they are "useful" shoes. Looks like the won't hurt the feet and can wear to run errands the whole day,...but apparently I'm wrong! They do hurt your feet, huh...
To look younger, wear something flirty and "useless". Like my ballet flats with a ball of lace (it looks comfy but hurts like hell too!) or my 2 inch heels with ultra small heels (they don't look comfy but actually they do! More than the ballet flats)
A good illustration about the point I was trying to make with matching the cardi length with the dress "waist" line is this one...

shiseido white lucent! i should try them on my countless pimple scars! :D
thanks for reviewing~ :))
there's nothing wrong with your style! ignore that SA.. =.= I always have to bring a jacket with me as I find Singapore's shopping malls are too cold!!! :p
and 167cm is really tall! :)) I'm less than 155cm!LOL. like a lil dwarf eh? :'(
hope you are feeling better~~ ^^
that cardigan is cute!
nevermind what SA's say. hmph!
heels make your legs look longer and change your body shape (how you stand, etc). it gives you more curves and a little more height and forces you to tighten your butt muscles so it makes your behind look better. i prefer to wear flats but it's fun to wear heels occasionally.. it just depends on your style. more conservative people tend to wear a slight heel to feminize their outfits, i think.
Yup, that SA sure is nosey. Should have kept her mouth shut.
I prefer to wear "ugly" flats (according to my friends) too cos they are way much more comfy than other shoes esp heels. But it depends on the cutting and materials too, I prefer leather "serviceable" ones Hahaha...
I'm 1.51m so heels does make me look taller, slimmer, well-proportioned but I get grumpy with ill-fitting shoes or having to walk around alot in heels. Dislike like having all my weights on my toes the whole day. Some of my colleagues do, and I can see their toes getting deformed with big toes jolting/angled outwards. Ouch...
Th white cardigan matches the dress nicely tho :)
Hiya,
Can I ask where did you buy the lovely dress? It's actually quite nice. =) Yes, you should tell that horrible SA to mind her own business >:( So rude of her!
As to the cleavage, at least you have a cleavage. *look at my own A or B cup* I couldn't be bothered ever since I stopped breastfeeding my son last year.. hehehehe...LOL
I think flats are great! ^_^ I am 1.72m tall, but I never ever can survive with heels further than the lift lobby. LOL
I have offically turned into an obasan since I become a mother last year. Oh well...
3 cheers for flats and being obasan! ^_^
